It was fantastic fun photographing a super impressive Camper Van called ‘Hygge‘ at various countryside locations in the Newbury Berkshire.
On a Saturday afternoon we meet at approximately 15:00 to start planning the shots required to rent ‘Hygge’ successfully on Quirky Campers. The weather was sunny and warm and we had a few beautiful locations planned. Having cycled along many of the amazing cycle routes on a Mountain Bike all over Berkshire it was very difficult for me to choose only a few locations when there are so many great possibilities for Camper Van Photography.
We started off by photographing the interiors of the Camper Van and would leave the exterior shots to later in the afternoon and evening when the light was softer. We used a wide angle lens for the interior shots which is perfect for fitting in as much detail as possible whilst making sure perspectives, verticals and horizontals were not distorted.
‘Hygge’ comes equipped with all of the necessary luxurious things you would require for a mobile Camper van. We photographed it’s beautiful kitchen with copper taps, cooker, dining and kitchen table, window views, cupboards, storage areas, a comfortable large bed and other key accessories including some dimmable lighting.
During the late afternoon we moved onto photographing the exteriors of ‘Hygee’. Combe Gibbet offered some stunning views overlooking the Newbury area and we achieved some excellent shots by opening up the back of the van for stunning views of countryside, small towns and wildlife. We also captured some late evening sunset shots that really showed off the beautiful lighting of ‘Hygge’ including the decorative fairy lights that were super atmospheric and relaxing. For these shots we used some subtle fill in flash identical to the lighting equipment used for fashion styled portraits.
Overall we took about 170 photographs. All photographs were post-processed manually and delivered in a format and resolution perfect for displaying on Quirky Campers website.
