Family portrait photography Hungerford
A warm family portrait photography Hungerford session for a local client and close friend. JawPhotography — now based in St Austell, Cornwall — photographed warm family portraits. The images were professionally post-processed and printed in-house.
Location on Hungerford Common
It was a pleasure to photograph friends. We scouted locations together and made test shots. Because the family live in Hungerford, we chose Hungerford Common among the autumn trees. Golden leaves and a popular walkway framed the set.
The shoot started around 2pm and lasted about 35 minutes. I arrived early with one adult to set lighting before the rest of the family arrived. Photographing children needs patience and play. Clear communication keeps everyone engaged.
Lighting and prints
I mixed a single strobe in a large softbox with overcast ambient light. Soft fill from the opposite side of the sun sharpened faces and opened shadows. A favourite portrait lens on a Nikon D810 delivered files sharp enough for A3, 8×10 and 5×7 prints. In total I printed twenty-four gallery-grade photographs.
Print delivery still matters. Digital files are useful. However, carefully colour-corrected prints feel lasting. For similar family portrait photography Hungerford-style sessions — or Cornwall family work from St Austell — see our portrait photography page or get in touch.
